Dreams & Chicks – The Art of Mauricio Morali

Ever since I started drawing, I dreamed of someday creating my own Artbook. At long last, being now a professional artist for animation and videogames in my early 40s, I got the chance to make it happen. Dreams & Chicks is a selection of Illustrations and drawings from various stages of my artistic journey, from the first illustrations that managed to stay in my viewers' memory, the ones I drew as part of art challenges on the internet, my personal projects like the "Astro Pinups" illustration series and my own webcomic: Lost Freaks, including some drawings I've made that hold a special place in my heart and mind. I dedicated this artbook to the drawings I've made for fun and fulfillment, rather than the work I've done for animated movies and series. Mainly because those personal drawings are the ones that kept me going and fed the passion I've felt towards art since I was a little kid. In this book, I also share some thoughts with you about taking part in art challenges, trusting your own artistic journey, not comparing to others, the evolution of technique, artistic influences and a bit of what was going on with my art through different stages of my life.
